OFFICIAL CITY TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY TO TAKE PLACE NOVEMBER 29 AT 6:30 P.M. DURING HOLLY JOLLY BRAWLEY

(Charleston, W. Va.) - The City of Charleston and the Downtown Charleston Association will kick off the fourth annual Holly Jolly Brawley celebration - including the official city tree lighting ceremony - the evening of Friday, November 29, 2024 at City Center at Slack Plaza. An awards presentation and drone show will precede the tree lighting and synchronized light show.

When:	Friday, November 29 5:45 p.m. | awards presentation 6:15 p.m. | drone show (best viewed from City Center & Summers St) 6:30 p.m. | tree lighting and kick-off of synchronized light show

General Traffic Information

The following street closures will be in place for Holly Jolly Brawley, beginning at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27 and extending through Monday, December 2 at 8 a.m.

• Summers St, from Parking Garage exit to Lee St

• Capitol St, from Quarrier St to Lee St

• Lee Way (at the triangle)

• Hale St, from Quarrier St to Lee St

*Some roads may re-open before Monday morning.

Drone Show Pedestrian & Traffic Information

To ensure the safety of all participants before, during and after the drone show on Friday, November 29, pedestrian and vehicle traffic will be prohibited within the designated "safety zone" outlined in orange in graphic to right from 6:10 p.m. to 6:35 p.m. In addition, Quarrier St, from Summers St to Court St, and Laidley St, from Lee St to Virginia St will be closed to traffic and pedestrians.

Parking Information

• The Summers St Parking Garage will be accessible via Quarrier Street only.

• Parking at all city-owned meters and in city-owned garages is free November 27 at 5 p.m. - December 1.

Holly Jolly Brawley Trolley & Temporary Relocation of KRT City Center Station

KRT will provide FREE Holly Jolly Brawley Trolley service every Friday through Sunday, November 29 - December 29, from 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. The trolley will depart approximately every 30 minutes from City Center - making stops at City Center, Lee St Triangle, GoMart Ball Park (Morris St), and Capitol Market (SoHo's).

KRT City Center Station will be temporarily relocated to Donnally St (from Laidley St to Summers St) and Summers St (from Donnally St to Washington St) on Friday, November 29, and Saturday, November 30 during Holly Jolly Brawley.
