Whitestone Community Association

Subject to AS 38.05.850, the Northern Regional Land Office has received an application for the following:

APPLICANT: Whitestone Community Association

PROJECT NAME: ADL 422465

GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION: Approximately 10 miles north of Delta Junction, crossing the western channel of the Tanana River approximately 1.2 miles northwest of the confluence of the Delta and Tanana Rivers.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: Within the SE ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 1, Township 9 South, Range 9 East, Fairbanks Meridian, as shown on the attached maps.

REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Whitestone Community Association has applied for a private non-exclusive easement crossing state submerged lands. The easement would measure 50 feet wide by approximately 240 feet long, comprising approximately 0.27 acres more or less, encompassing a pre-existing suspension foot bridge. The bridge is used to provide access between two private parcels located on both sides of a side-channel of the Tanana River. DNR DMLW is considering issuing a private easement because it would only provide access between two private parcels. Public rights to navigate the river channel under the bridge would not be impaired.

REQUESTED TERM: DNR is considering a term of 20 years

DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: September 10, 2025

The public is invited to comment on this activity. The purpose of this notice is to gather input before a decision is made on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land, and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK 99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above. After review and adjudication, we may issue an authorization with stipulations for the activity. The activity may be modified during the review and adjudication process.
