In an effort to spread the word about animal adoption and to help these loving animals find fur-ever homes, the City of Lewisville will feature a Pet of the Week each week in this media packet, available for adoption at the Gene Carey Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, 995 E. Valley Ridge.
This week's featured pet is Dumpling, a 3-year-old male Retriever/Labrador mix. He is a Shelter VIP, which means his adoption fees are waived.
Dumpling is a care-free, dapper boy who loves everyone he meets. He is high-energy and is working on learning manners. When he gets excited, he gets a little mouthy. He absolutely loves playing with other dogs - cats not so much. He likes to play with them; they don't like it as much.
Dumpling is vaccinated, wormed, microchipped, heartworm negative, had flea treatment applied, and is sterilized.
Anyone interested in Dumpling can submit an application through the "Adoptable Pets" page at cityoflewisville.com. Just click on his picture and follow the unique URL to begin an online adoption application. Once the application has been submitted, Lewisville Animal Services will call the applicant on or before the next business day. If approved, staff will counsel the potential adoption and will schedule an appointment for an in-person visit with Vesper.
