Outgoing Pakistan Defence Attaché Pays Farewell Call on Deputy Minister of Defence

The outgoing Defence Attaché of the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, Colonel Muhammad Farooq, paid a farewell call on the Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), today (23 July) at the Deputy Minister's office in Colombo.

Colonel Muhammad Farooq was accompanied by the newly appointed Defence Attaché of the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka, Colonel Muhammad Talha Badar, during the courtesy call.

During the cordial meeting, the Deputy Minister and Colonel Farooq exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on the longstanding and friendly defence relations between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

The Deputy Minister appreciated Colonel Farooq's contribution towards further strengthening bilateral defence cooperation and military-to-military relations during his tenure in Sri Lanka and conveyed his best wishes for his future endeavours.

The Deputy Minister also warmly welcomed Colonel Muhammad Talha Badar to his new appointment and expressed confidence that the longstanding defence relations and cooperation between Sri Lanka and Pakistan would continue to flourish during his tenure.
