The City of Boulder is continuing construction for the annual Pavement Management Program, which routinely inspects, rates and repairs the city's 300 miles of streets. Upcoming construction from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Aug. 7-8, weather permitting, will impact the Folsom Street and Colorado Avenue intersection. On Friday, Aug. 7, there will be single-lane closures to both streets near the intersection, with traffic control directing all travelers through the intersection. On Saturday, Aug. 8, work requires closing the intersection to all travel, including the HOP bus. Visit Cone Zones for a map, detours and updates.
The program also coordinates work to deliver immediate safety upgrades during routine maintenance for cost savings and efficiency, such as with new road striping and supplemental bicycle, pedestrian or transit upgrades. Mobility enhancements at this intersection include:
Transportation maintenance is a key component of the city's transportation strategy, supporting a safe and connected transportation system for all ages and abilities to travel in Boulder. While work is informed by prior community engagement, pavement maintenance is a separate effort from ongoing design projects. Learn more on the Pavement Management Program webpage.
