To safely complete the work, all northbound and southbound lanes of K-5 between 10th Street and Sunshine Road will be fully closed to traffic starting May 13. The bridge is expected to reopen in December 2025, with full project completion anticipated in May 2026.
Detour Routes:
Northbound K-5

Message boards and signage have been installed to help guide motorists through the area. Traffic control will include changeable message boards, signs, channelizers, and barricades.
Clarkson Construction of Kansas City, Missouri, is managing the $12.5 million project. Work will occur during daylight hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday work as needed. KDOT encourages all drivers to stay alert, follow posted detour signs, and allow extra travel time when driving near construction zones.
