"Christmas is a time when families across Alberta come together, homes are filled with warmth and communities pause to celebrate what truly matters.

"For Christians, Christmas marks the birth of Jesus Christ and the message of hope at the heart of the season, expressed through love, generosity and service to others.

"Across our province, Christmas is also a time to gather with loved ones, share traditions and care for one another, through generosity, time spent together and support for those in need. It is a season that encourages us to slow down, set aside distractions and be fully present with the people we love.

"While many Albertans will be surrounded by family and friends today, others may be facing the season alone or in difficult circumstances. Reaching out, checking in, or offering support can bring real comfort and remind people they are not alone."

"My sincere thanks to the volunteers, donors and charitable organizations who give so much of themselves during the Christmas season and throughout the year to help others feel supported and included.

"May Christmas bring peace to your home, joy to your family and a renewed sense of connection within our communities. From my family to yours, I wish you a very merry Christmas."
