Most City Departments Closed Good Friday (April 3, 2026)
The City of Cedar Rapids will be closed Good Friday on Friday, April 3, 2026.
Most City departments will be closed. The following City services will operate as indicated:
- Fire Department - Administrative and Fire Marshal's offices closed. Responding to emergencies.
- Library - Normal business hours on Friday, April 3. Both locations of the Library closed Sunday, April 5.
- Police Department - Administrative offices closed. Responding to emergencies. Non-emergency calls can be directed to 319-286-5491.
- Solid Waste & Recycling - Administrative offices closed. There will be no delay for garbage or recycling collection on Friday, April 3.
- Transit - Services will run as usual.

The Water Division's 24-hour emergency service number is (319) 286-5930.
Public Works Sewer Division 24-hour emergency service number is (319) 286-5815.
Public Works Streets Division 24-hour emergency service number is (319) 286-5826.
