Palm Beach County Launches SolarAPP+

Online App for Rooftop Solar Systems

The Palm Beach County Planning, Zoning and Building Department (PZB) is pleased to announce the launching of SolarAPP+™, an innovative online permitting platform for the installation of residential rooftop solar systems in unincorporated Palm Beach County.

SolarAPP+ automates plan review and compliance checks for eligible solar systems which reduce permitting timelines by an average of three weeks. Contractors working in unincorporated Palm Beach County can now receive an instant, self-issued permit by uploading their SolarAPP+ approved plans and approval number through ePZB Portal.

To take advantage of this program, contractors are required to register with Solar App+. Additionally, contractors are invited to participate in an upcoming SolarAPP+ virtual training session on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. Register here [us06web.zoom.us].

The county joins over 280 local governments throughout the United States using SolarAPP+ to improve efficiency, enforce high-quality workmanship and safety compliance and provide fast and reliable turnarounds for local businesses.

"This is part of the department's ongoing commitment to improving efficiency and providing community stakeholders with access to innovative technology," said Palm Beach County Building Official Doug Wise.
