Redwood City, California - The City of Redwood City and the San Mateo County Firefighters/IAFF Local 2400 are pleased to have reached agreement over a two-year successor labor contract. IAFF represents Firefighter/Engineers, Paramedics, Fire Captains, Fire Prevention Officers and the Deputy Fire Marshal, all positions which provide critical services to our community. The City and IAFF worked collaboratively to prioritize appropriate staffing levels, as well as sustainable compensation in order to ensure that the City can attract, develop and retain qualified candidates. Terms of the agreement include 3% wage increases per year, market adjustments to paramedic pay, and incentives for Firefighter/Engineers to attend paramedic school. In addition, the parties agreed to changes to compensatory time off accrual.
