Animal Shelter to Close October 7 for Emergency Preparedness Training

The Loudoun County Animal Shelter, 42225 Adoption Drive, Leesburg, will be closed Tuesday, October 7, 2025, for emergency preparedness training. Humane law enforcement services will not be affected by the one-day closure.

The Department of Animal Services' main phone number, 703-777-0406, will be operational only for humane law enforcement services during the closure.

Email messages received during the closure will be answered on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

Loudoun County Animal Services provides animal welfare, sheltering and animal control services, and, as the only open-admission animal shelter in Loudoun County, receives approximately 2,500 lost, seized, abandoned or homeless pets each year.
