The Mayor, in collaboration with the Norman Human Rights Commission, will host the 2026 Mayor's Interfaith Breakfast on Monday, January 19, 2026, inside of the Nancy O'Brian Center for the Performing Arts. The center is located at 1801 Stubbeman Avenue. Breakfast begins at 9:00 a.m., followed by the event program beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Join neighbors in coming together to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., through different faith traditions, love for one another, and community. As Dr. King's vision is reflected on, event coordinators recognize that keeping his message alive is essential to strengthening the roots of care within the community. His teachings remind all that fairness, compassion, and service are seeds that must continue to be planted - seeds that grow into stronger neighborhoods, deeper understanding and a more united future.
"The time is always right to do what is right," said Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
"May this gathering continue to inspire us to do what is right for one another, to lift one another up, and to cultivate the kind of community Dr. King dreamed of; one rooted in love, nourished by service, and blossoming with hope," said Aisha Ali, Human Rights Commission Chairperson.
Seating is limited to the first 220 who register to attend. All are welcome. Registration will remain open until filled or until noon on January 15, 2026. Register to attend here.
Day of Service activities organized through the Department of Parks and Recreation will also be held January 19, 2026. See details here.
