(Leavenworth, Kansas) - The University of Saint Mary will present a unique evening of visual art and live music on March 3, featuring selections from its Kohler Art Foundation Collection alongside the Concert Chorale's Spring Pops performance, Shades of Blue. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Saint Joseph Dining Hall on USM's Leavenworth Campus.

The Kohler Art Foundation Exhibition will highlight select works from a 256-piece collection awarded through a grant proposal led by Professor of Art and Graphic Design Tom Wallestad with support from the Division of Liberal Arts and Humanities. The collection includes pieces by Gustavo Fares, John Schacht, John N. Colt, Barbara Rossi, and Glen C. Davies.

The Kohler Foundation, Inc. has placed artwork in more than 200 museums and institutions, including the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The University of Saint Mary and the Spencer Museum of Art at the University of Kansas are the only educational institutions in the state to receive works from the foundation.

As guests view the exhibition, they will also hear performances by the University of Saint Mary Concert Chorale. The Shades of Blue program will feature a variety of pop selections and student solos.

The Concert Chorale students are Aaralyn Abell, Mandy Butscher, Kaitlyn Coleman, Destini Dickson, Alyssa Garrett, Ellie Johnson, Ginevieve Jones, Ra'Mon Jones, Izabelle Meza, Rachel Rothmeyer, Brianne Totten, Brooke Totten, Dawson Turner, and Kira Wagner. The ensemble will also be joined by community members Jake Hamilton and Justyce Hulett and is directed by Professors David N. Vance and Jonnie Brice.

The event is free and open to the public and will include refreshments.
