Medication Disposal Day

The Lewisville Police Department is coordinating with LISD Choices program to provide residents and businesses with a safe way to dispose of expired, unused, unsafe, or unneeded medication. The goal of this program is to reduce the risk of prescription drug abuse and increase awareness of this critical public health issue.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 25, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at Lewisville High School, 1098 West Main Street.

Volunteers and police officers will be present to accept, secure, and deliver the medications to the Drug Enforcement Agency for proper disposal. No syringes, sharp objects, or inhalers will be accepted.

Many other cities are participating in this event, so other locations are also available; however, this is the only Lewisville location. This is a great opportunity for those who have missed previous events, or who have subsequently accumulated unwanted, unused prescription drugs, to safely dispose of those medications.
