More than 100 residents will benefit from safe, secure and affordable housing in North Parramatta through a 66-home development being delivered across three sites in a partnership between Hume Community Housing, Homes NSW and Housing Australia.

  • 38 new homes with funding support through the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) - Social and Affordable

  • A further 28 social homes under construction and due for completion in 2027

  • Key workers and vulnerable community members to benefit from well-located homes close to jobs, education and services.

Housing Australia is providing funding support of up to $17.7 million through the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) - Social and Affordable to enable the delivery of 66 social and affordable homes across three sites, replacing seven ageing fibro and weatherboard cottages with modern, energy-efficient homes close to jobs, education, transport and essential services.

Today's opening marks the completion of the first two sites of the project, delivering 22 affordable homes at Irving Street and 16 affordable homes at Collett Parade in North Parramatta. A further 28 social homes are under construction and are expected to be completed in April 2027.

The affordable homes will be prioritised for key workers in sectors including health and education, supporting access to housing choice in one of Western Sydney's key economic centres. The social homes will provide dedicated housing for older women on low incomes who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, with women over 55 among the fastest-growing cohorts at risk of homelessness.

Housing Australia CEO Scott Langford said the development highlights the impact of partnerships in delivering more homes in well-connected communities.

"A home is the foundation for opportunity, providing the stability people need to participate in work, education and community life.

"These new homes will enable residents to live closer to jobs, services and support networks, while contributing to a stronger and more connected Parramatta community.

"This project is part of a growing national pipeline of social and affordable housing being delivered through the HAFF, including across NSW. Together, these developments are expanding access to safe and secure housing, strengthening communities, and supporting generational change across the housing system."

Designed with a focus on resident wellbeing, sustainability and community connection, the development will provide high-quality homes that complement the surrounding neighbourhood while remaining efficient to operate over the long term.
