Lucas Joining Office of the President

Colleagues,

I am pleased to tell you that Tammy Lucas will join the Office of the President as Senior Executive Assistant to the President, effective June 27. She will work closely with Ms. Patty Kane, who continues to serve as an administrative assistant for the Office.

Ms. Lucas fills the position formerly held by Ruffina Winters, who retired from IUP on June 7.

The Senior Executive Assistant to the President reports directly to me and serves in a confidential senior role that is a principal aide and logistics manager in a combination of a chief of staff, ombudsmen, and office manager for the Office of the President.

Ms. Lucas has almost two decades of experience at IUP. She has worked in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of Graduate Admissions, the Office of Social Equity and Civic Engagement, the College of Education and Educational Technology, the Department of Communications Media, and is currently an administrative assistant in the Office of the Vice President for University Advancement, a position she has held since 2021.

I am very confident that Ms. Lucas is an excellent fit for the Office of the President and I look forward to working with her.

After June 27, please include Ms. Lucas on appropriate communications with the Office of the President; she can be reached at 724-357-2200 or via email at [email protected].

Michael A. Driscoll
President
