At about 11:45 a.m. Aug. 9, Columbia Police responded to the burglary of a business in the 1200 block of Seventh Street.
The suspect, identified as Joshua Allen Patrick, 38, of Columbia, had stolen a fire extinguisher from a nearby business and used it to break the front door glass and enter the building. Police officers arrested Patrick outside of the building on charges of second-degree burglary and stealing.
There were no known injuries, but there was damage to the building's front door.
