Escambia County is pleased to recognize Peter Haupt, IT Business Analyst in the Information Technology Department, as the June 2026 Employee of the Month. Haupt's selection will be recognized with a proclamation at the June 17 Board of County Commissioners meeting.
In his role as an IT Business Analyst, Haupt provides technical and operational support for numerous county departments, including Animal Welfare, County Administration, the County Attorney's Office, Human Resources, and Purchasing, and more. He plays a critical role in supporting Board of County Commissioners meetings, ensuring all technological operations run seamlessly and efficiently.
Since joining Escambia County's IT Department in August 2020, Haupt has successfully managed and contributed to numerous major IT projects and software implementations that have made a positive impact countywide. He takes initiative in coordinating project tasks, communicating with vendors and county departments to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively. Throughout his time in the IT Department, Haupt has fostered strong relationships with county staff, vendors, and outside agencies to ensure new programs and procedures align with Escambia County's operational goals and security requirements.
"Peter is a core member our IT team, consistently demonstrating exceptional dedication and professionalism," Chief Information Officer John Erar said. "His ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and end users has made him an invaluable resource to both IT staff and county departments. His professionalism, reliability, and commitment to service excellence make him highly deserving of recognition as Employee of the Month."
In addition to his daily responsibilities, Haupt assists departments with software implementations, system enhancements, reporting, user support, and process improvements. He consistently goes above and beyond by providing project coordination, vendor communication, documentation, training, and technical guidance to county staff while helping maintain continuity of operations for the departments he supports. He has been recognized by his colleagues for his leadership, organization, and technical expertise, demonstrating a positive attitude and collaborative approach to each task he takes on.
