Video: Student finds purpose in giving back to her community

For Nayzeth Landa, CU Denver became more than a place to earn a degree. As a first-generation student, she found mentors, opportunities and a community that helped her discover a passion for supporting others.

That commitment extended beyond campus. Nayzeth volunteered at Ollin Farms in Longmont, where she became involved in CU Denver's work exploring Indigenous regenerative farming practices and the connections among food, land and community. The partnership gives students hands-on experience with sustainable agriculture while supporting food justice and ecosystem resilience.

Now working at CU Denver, Nayzeth is helping students navigate some of the same challenges she once faced. Watch the video to learn how her CU experience helped shape her path, and inspired her to give back to the community that supported her.
