Waterline Replacement Project Underway Along SR 45 in Saybrook Township

Work is underway to replace an aging and problematic waterline along State Route 45 in Saybrook Township. The project, led by the Ashtabula County Department of Environmental Services, is focused on improving water service, reducing interruptions, and supporting future growth in the area.

This section of waterline has caused major issues recently, with more than 30 breaks happening in just the past few months. Fixing it became an urgent need to stop ongoing problems and make sure residents and businesses have reliable water service.

The project is especially important as Plastpro moves forward with a major expansion that will double its workforce. Reliable water service is key to making sure projects like this succeed and continue bringing jobs and growth to our county.

We're grateful to Plastpro who worked with us through their subsidiary, JM Eagle to help get the pipe we needed at a good price. We also want to thank our hardworking ACDES team, Union Industrial Contractors, and many others who are making this project happen.

Construction is well underway with over 1100 feet of pipe installed with more daily, and the county will share updates as the project moves toward completion.
