Tips for Preventing Identity Theft

Consider these steps to help protect yourself and your family.

Best Practices for Cybersecurity

To enhance online security, use separate email accounts for professional and personal communications. Stay vigilant by creating strong passwords, changing them regularly, and exercising caution when clicking links or opening email attachments.

Monitoring Your Credit

Review your credit reports regularly for unauthorized activity. Consider signing up for credit monitoring services, such as My Credit Score through First Reliance Online or Mobile Banking, to easily track any changes to your credit score.

Protecting Your Family's Identity

Review the apps on your children's devices. Limit location tracking, establish strong and unique passwords, and ensure their online accounts don't contain personal information.

For older family members, you might consider adding a trusted individual to their financial accounts to receive notifications about any unusual activity.
