With the aim of strengthening The Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID) role in the field of food security at the regional level, H.E. Dr. Obaid Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Board of AAAID, received H.E. Mr. Kęstutis Navickas, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania, accompanied by his delegation, on Tuesday, 27 January 2026, at AAAID main office.
The meeting reviewed AAAID's activities and areas of operation, as well as its developmental and investment projects. Discussions also focused on exploring avenues of cooperation between the two sides, particularly in the fields of sustainable agriculture, food security, agricultural investment, and the exchange of technical and technological expertise.
The meeting further addressed ways to enhance institutional cooperation and explore future partnership opportunities, contributing to the support of agricultural development, the promotion of high-quality investments, and the achievement of mutual interests.
H.E. the Lithuanian Minister of Agriculture commended the role played by AAAID in supporting developmental projects and promoting agricultural investment, reaffirming his country's commitment to expanding cooperation with specialized Arab institutions and benefiting from shared experiences in agricultural innovation and advanced technologies.
For his part, H.E. Dr. Obaid Al Zaabi emphasized the importance of the visit in strengthening bilateral relations and opening new horizons for cooperation with the Lithuanian side, in a manner that enhances joint efforts toward achieving sustainable development and supporting the food security system.
Through this meeting, AAAID reaffirmed its commitment to supporting sustainable agricultural investment initiatives and strengthening Arab and international integration in the field of food security, contributing to sustainable development and the stability of food supply chains at both the regional and international levels.
