FREE Home Weatherization Workshop for Alexandria Residents

Fall is the perfect time to tackle simple home improvements to make sure your home is warm and comfortable this winter.

Before it's time to turn up the heat, join us for a FREE workshop to learn how to keep warm air in and cold air out, reducing your energy bills and making your home more comfortable this winter.

The City of Alexandria is partnering with experts from My Favorite Fixer to offer a FREE, hands-on weatherization workshop for Alexandria residents on October 17, 2026. You don't need to live in a single-family home to participate, the workshop is also perfect for renters and condo owners!

Space is limited; register for a workshop today!

During the 2.5-hour workshop, participants will get hands-on experience with valuable weatherization skills they can use in their own homes, including:

• Finding drafts and air leaks with thermal cameras (available to be checked out from the Alexandria library!)
• Sealing drafts with caulk, weatherstripping, door sweeps, and insulating window film
• Understanding the basics of insulation and what actions can make a difference
• Making simple energy saving improvements to lower your energy bills

Weatherization upgrades can save households an average of 15% on heating and cooling costs.

All materials are provided, and every participant will receive a FREE energy efficiency kit to take home so you can start weatherizing your home.
