A statement from Chester County Parks + Preservation

On Sunday, October 12, 2025, a visitor at Hibernia County Park was struck by a falling tree along the Park's Rim Trail. County Park Rangers responded immediately and provided initial medical attention until paramedics arrived. The 67-year-old woman was transported to Paoli Hospital for medical care.

We were deeply saddened to learn that the victim, Pam Dean, later passed away. Pam was a frequent visitor to Hibernia Park and was a member of the Hibernia Hiking Club. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her during this difficult time.

We are working closely with County officials to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
