ALL ABOARD THE NJ TRANSIT AND RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE “POLAR EXPRESS” TRAIN

December 6, 2025

CAMDEN, NJ - NJ TRANSIT hosted a very special guest on the River LINE Saturday, December 6, as Santa Claus himself delivered goodies to children staying at the Ronald McDonald House Southern New Jersey. The River LINE "Polar Express" ride is in its 6th year, hosted by NJ TRANSIT, spreading cheer and the warmth of the holiday season to families staying at the House, while their child receives care at local hospitals.

"We are pleased to once again partner with the Ronald McDonald House to bring joy and holiday magic to children and families facing extraordinary challenges," said NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kris Kolluri. "This annual tradition reflects NJ TRANSIT's commitment to being more than a transportation provider-we are an integral part of the communities we serve."

"We are so grateful to our community partner NJ TRANSIT for making this magical trip come to life for our families," said Tracey Sharpe, RMHSNJ Executive Director. "This is a memorable experience for our children and their loved ones during the holiday season, while they are accessing healthcare far from home."

The "Polar Express" ride departed the Waterfront Entertainment Complex for its two-hour festive ride between Camden and Burlington South.

New Jersey Transit Police and the Camden Fire Department accompanied families to the light rail station where the honored guests were given a golden ticket before boarding the "Polar Express." The children and their families then stepped on board the specially decorated holiday wonderland light rail vehicle complete with caroling volunteer elves.
