Barcelona, February 2nd, 2026 - Volotea, the airline connecting small and mid-sized European cities, closed 2025 with its strongest operational performance to date, translating into record customer satisfaction across its network. The year was marked by improved punctuality, enhanced operational reliability, and solid demand, reinforcing the airline's position as a trusted operator in its core European markets.
Operational Performance in 2025
In 2025, Volotea operated close to 74,000 flights and transported nearly 11.3 million passengers across its network, maintaining a seat load factor of 90%. Activity levels remained stable year on year, reflecting consistent demand across the airline's core European markets. During the year, Volotea also surpassed a significant milestone, carrying more than 80 million passengers since the start of its operations.
Operational performance improved across key indicators. On-time performance within 15 minutes (OTP15) reached 79%, up four percentage points compared with 2024, while the completion rate, which measures the share of scheduled flights operated without cancellation, reached 99.7%, according to Cirium. This result ranked Volotea first among European low-cost airlines for reliability in 2025, for the second consecutive year. Performance at extended punctuality thresholds also remained very strong in 2025, with OTP180 reaching 99.6%, highlighting the resilience of Volotea's operations.
Several bases delivered particularly strong punctuality results, led by Rodez, France (OTP15 93%), Asturias, Spain (92%), Bilbao, Spain (90.4%), Lourdes-Tarbes, France (88%) and Florence, Italy (86.3%). All were well above the network average.
Customer Satisfaction and Industry Recognition
The improvements in operational performance were directly reflected in customer perception. Volotea reached a record Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 48.6 points for 2025, representing a 24% increase compared with 2024; among members of its Megavolotea loyalty program, NPS reached 56.8 points. Over the same period, the airline's recommendation rate reached 90%, rising to 93% among Megavolotea members.
NPS is a global benchmarking tool widely used across industries to measure customer satisfaction and loyalty. It is calculated based on post-flight survey responses in which passengers rate how likely they are to recommend the airline to others. On a 0-10 scale, passengers are classified as Promoters (9-10), Passives (7-8), or Detractors (0-6). The NPS is the percentage of Promoters minus the percentage of Detractors. In aviation, a good average NPS is considered to be around 25 points.
Eduard Diviu, Chief Operating Officer at Volotea, said, "Delivering a consistently reliable operation for our passengers is a core priority for Volotea. Being ranked first among European low-cost airlines in 2025 for reliability, according to Cirium, with a completion rate of 99.7%, reflects the consistency of our day-to-day operation. Alongside the progress we made in punctuality, these results are reflected in the record customer satisfaction levels we achieved across the network, thanks to the close coordination between our crews, operations teams, airport partners and their teams, and wider operational partners, and I would like to thank each of them for their support. Building on this performance, we are focused on continuing to raise operational standards as we move further into 2026."
Customer satisfaction remained strong across all markets. Spain recorded the highest NPS at 52.5, followed by Italy at 51.8 and France at 46.7. More than half of Volotea's bases posted NPS scores above 50, and all operating airports remained above the aviation industry benchmark.
At base level, customer satisfaction was particularly strong in locations such as Rodez, France (NPS 70.7), Asturias, Spain (59.6), Verona, Italy (58.1), Lourdes-Tarbes, France (56.4) and Bari, Italy (55), underlining the consistency of performance across the network.
Volotea's results were further reinforced by industry recognition, with the airline named "Europe's Leading Low-Cost Airline" at the World Travel Awards. The 2025 award marked the fourth time Volotea has received this distinction, following previous wins in 2021, 2022 and 2024.
Market Performance Across France, Italy and Spain
France remained Volotea's largest market in 2025, with approximately 48,000 flights operated and more than 7.2 million passengers transported, representing a 7% increase year on year, while seat load factor stood at 90%, completion rate reached 99.3%, and OTP15 reached 75%, up nearly four percentage points versus 2024. Italy recorded stable volumes in 2025, operating around 24,500 flights and carrying approximately 3.8 million passengers, with a seat load factor of 90%, and a completion rate of 99.3%. OTP15 reached 73%, up nearly nine percentage points compared with 2024, representing one of the strongest punctuality improvements across the network. Spain continued to show solid momentum, increasing flights and passenger volumes by 9% to around 22,000 flights and 3.4 million passengers, delivering a seat load factor of 92%, OTP15 of 79% and a completion rate of 99.6%.

The airline also plans to incorporate additional aircraft into its fleet this year, reaching around 45 to 46 aircraft, and has announced two base openings in France for 2026, in Montpellier and Limoges, supporting its continued development in the French market and wider European connectivity.
