Spajić, Al Nahyan: The vision of accelerated economic growth achievable through strong partnerships
Montenegro and the United Arab Emirates reaffirmed their firm commitment to strengthening excellent bilateral relations by deepening economic cooperation through concrete projects, particularly in the fields of tourism, energy, infrastructure, and advanced technologies.
This was the key message from the meeting between Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajić and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
Prime Minister Spajić is paying a working visit to Abu Dhabi, where the governments of Montenegro and the UAE today signed an Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Energy.
As highlighted during the meeting, the agreement establishes a strategic partnership between the two countries focused on the development of renewable energy sources, modern energy infrastructure, and advanced technologies.
This partnership will open the door to new investments in the energy sector, giving fresh momentum to one of Montenegro's key strategic industries - driven by the expertise and innovation of leading global companies.
Sheikh Mohamed praised Montenegro's progress and the ambitious agenda being implemented by Prime Minister Spajić in the areas of European integration, reform, and business climate improvement.
The meeting also underlined that, following the recently signed interstate economic cooperation agreement, the two countries have intensified collaboration in priority development sectors - including tourism, energy, infrastructure, and advanced technologies - with the goal of fostering sustainable economic growth in both nations.
Both leaders agreed that small countries have the opportunity to advance and develop more swiftly, and that Montenegro, by following this approach, can become a model of sustainable growth and success in the region.
Discussions also covered regional relations and Montenegro's potential to serve as a strategic hub for regional and broader connectivity.
In addition to Prime Minister Spajić, the Montenegrin delegation at the meeting with the UAE President included Minister of Public Works Majda Adžović, Minister of Energy and Mining Admir Šahmanović, Chief Adviser to the Prime Minister Branko Krvavac, Adviser to the Prime Minister for Economic Policy Milena Milović, and Isidora Dabović, representative of the Embassy of Montenegro in Abu Dhabi.
