Second Lady Blayre Holmes Davis Highlights the Need for Child Care Investments in Pennsylvania

Second Lady Blayre Holmes Davis attended the Pennsylvania Early Learning Investment Commission (ELIC) PA Innovation Summit for a moderated keynote discussion with Reshma Saujani, Founder & CEO of Moms First and Founder of Girls Who Code, to discuss the challenges of child care in Pennsylvania and how we can improve access across the board.

Since taking office, the Shapiro-Davis Administration has taken significant steps to improve our child care system, not just for families but for our child care workers as well. We've boosted the child care tax credit for families and gave recruitment and retention bonuses to our child care workers for two years in a row. Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis, as Co-chair of ELIC, has also directed state agencies to reevaluate child care options and opportunities within their departments as a Whole-of-Government approach to help solve the child care crisis.

Speakers:

  • Second Lady Blayre Holmes Davis
  • Reshma Saujani, Founder & CEO of Moms First and Founder of Girls Who Code
