Don’t Miss 2026 Wisconsin Salt Week Livestreams, Videos and More

The City of Madison Engineering Division is proud to take part in Wisconsin Salt Week, Jan. 26-30, 2026, and invites the community to join in on the community educational opportunities to learn how to responsibly use salt and minimize salt use.

Winter Salt Week, January 26-30, 2026, aims to educate residents on the issue of salt pollution: how salt impacts our drinking water and freshwater ecosystems, winter maintenance practices that dramatically reduce salt use, engineering solutions, and tips for snow and ice contracts.

Local Digital Salt Education

The Engineering Division will be offering a digital series on social media called Less Salty with Phil Gaebler, and will post new short video tips from our stormwater and water quality engineer Phil Gaebler each day next week.
