Illinois 13 lane closures at Kaskaskia River Bridge begin June 8 in St. Clair County

NEW ATHENS - The Illinois Department of Transportation today announced that lane closures will be in place on Illinois 13 at the Kaskaskia River Bridge north of New Athens in St. Clair County beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, June 8, weather permitting.

​The lane closures are required for navigation lighting repairs on the bridge and will be in place during daytime hours. Flaggers will maintain two-way traffic.

​The work is expected to last three days.
​​
​Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes during this closure. Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
