Construction Activity Prompts SR 33/Maynardville Highway Lane Shift in Union County

Motorists traveling on Maynardville Highway (State Route 33) in Union County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will have an impact on traffic.

Flaggers will be in place to direct motorists through the work zone. Once pavement markings are complete, traffic will no longer be impacted, and all lanes will be back open.

You can learn more about this project here: https://www.tn.gov/tdot/projects/projects-region-1/state-route-33.html.

This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use extreme caution in this area as workers will be present.

As always, drivers are reminded to use all motorist information tools wisely and "Know Before You Go!" by checking travel conditions before leaving for your destination. Drivers should never tweet, text, or talk on a cell phone while behind the wheel. The TDOT SmartWay system provides the latest updates for road construction activity. Travelers can also call 511 for travel information.
