Custodial cleaning frequencies updated

Custodial Services is updating campus custodial cleaning frequencies in Spring 2026.

An audit comparing custodial cleaning frequencies to daily cleaning reports revealed that an updated to listed services was due - allowing for the department to be clear, honest and consistent about what they can reliably deliver.

What is not changing is the commitment to campus cleanliness. What are identified as our core services - trash removal in classrooms and common areas, regular restroom cleaning, and weekly office cleaning - will continue as they always have. These high-impact areas are the top priority.

What is changing is how available labor is allocated. Some lower-priority tasks will now occur less frequently, allowing teams to focus their time and effort where it matters most to the campus community. This approach helps maintain higher quality, more consistent service in the spaces used every day.

Custodial Services appreciates campus' understanding and partnership as they continue working to support a clean, safe and welcoming environment for all users.
