Natia Turnava Meets with Visa's Regional President

The Governor of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), Natia Turnava, met with Tareq Muhmood, Regional President for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Visa.

During the meeting, both sides discussed current developments in the payments market, reforms that have been implemented and planned by the NBG, and opportunities to deepen cooperation with Visa. Particular emphasis was placed on the development of payment systems, the implementation of innovative projects, and strengthening consumer protection mechanisms, along with discussions on operational security matters.

The cooperation between the NBG and Visa includes financial education initiatives, information exchange, the development of payments infrastructure, and the adoption of new technologies. This collaboration plays an important role in strengthening the country's payments ecosystem.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties confirmed their readiness to continue working together on the development of payment systems, the promotion of innovative services, and enhancing operational security.

Also participating in the meeting were the Vice-President of the NBG, Ekaterine Galdava; Cristina Doros, Senior Vice President and Group Country Manager for Visa CISSEE, Regional Manager for Visa in the Caucasus and Moldova Diana Kiguradze, and the NBG's Heads of International and Payments Departments - Giorgi Edilashvili and Natalia Chkhoidze.
