Viva Energy announces strategic partnership with RFNSW to deliver exclusive fuel savings for members

Viva Energy, the proud operator of Shell Card in Australia, is pleased to announce a new partnership with Road Freight NSW (RFNSW) that has the potential to deliver substantial fuel savings and exclusive benefits to RFNSW members.

Under the new agreement, RFNSW members will enjoy discounted fuel and lubricants, pay zero transaction fees, and access additional savings at 15 key Shell-branded truck stops positioned on major transport routes across the state. This partnership supports the ongoing efforts of RFNSW to reduce operational costs and drive value for its members.

The Shell Card program offers unparalleled convenience, with over 1,600 locations nationwide-including Shell, OTR, Reddy Express, and Liberty randed sites-accepting the Shell Card. RFNSW members can "Fill Up Anywhere" with such a large network of sites, ensuring seamless access to quality fuel no matter where their journeys take them.

As part of the offer, members will save with exclusive discounts through Shell Card Formula pricing at 15 key Shell Truck Stop locations. Members will also receive a 9.5 cents per litre discount on diesel at the Shell National Diesel Chain, 6 cents off per litre at all Shell Card accepting sites for Shell fuel purchases (excl LPG), and 5 cents off each litre of AdBlue. In addition, card fees have been entirely waived for participating members, delivering further savings to support their businesses.

The partnership reflects Viva Energy's commitment to supporting the Australian transport industry through innovation and customer-focused solutions. The deal with RFNSW follows similar successful collaborations with other state-wide transport associations.

RFNSW CEO Simon O'Hara said the new partnership would allow its members to access some of the most competitive fuel rates in Australia.

"This is good news for our trucking operators already facing ever-increasing operating costs," Mr O'Hara said. "With fuel accounting for 28% of the costs for transport operators, this partnership means that by becoming a member of RFNSW, you can access fuel savings with Shell Card that will start improving your bottom line significantly. We estimate that members could save an average of 20cpl off on diesel across the 15 key Shell sites, based on recent data*.

"This extremely competitive offer is another compelling reason to join RFNSW and access savings immediately at the pump when you buy Shell fuel," said Mr O'Hara. Mr O'Hara said he was looking forward to welcome Shell Card as a major sponsor of the 2025 RFNSW Conference on 19 September, where NSW Minister for Transport John Graham MLC, will be among the line-up of special guest speakers. RFNSW members are encouraged to take advantage of these new benefits, designed to help them save time and reduce costs in a challenging economic environment.

*Estimated savings based on difference between board price and Shell Formula pricing on diesel, averaged for the period from 1 Mar to 30 Apr 2025 across 15 key Shell truck stops. Exact savings will depend on individual site/s used and board and Shell Card Formula pricing at the time of purchase. See shell.com.au/rfnswcrt for details.
