Lincoln Home National Historic Site plans to host a free, all-day public celebration marking the two hundred and seventeenth anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth. Events will take place at the Lincoln Home National Historic Site Visitor Center located at 426 S. 7th Street, city, state, on Thursday, February 12; Saturday, February 14; and Sunday, February 15.
On Thursday, February 12, from 11 a.m. -4 p.m. the Eastern National Bookstore will host a book signing with Jan Jacobi featuring his three books: Young Lincoln, Lincoln in Springfield, and Lincoln and Douglas.
On both Saturday, February 14 and Sunday, February 15 family-friendly crafts and activities will be available including a button making station, a chance to design a birthday card for Abraham Lincoln, and a photo booth with Lincoln Home and National Park Service props.
On Saturday, February 14 the Eastern National Bookstore will host book signings with Marla Harms Judge and Jan Jacobi. From 10 a.m. -1 p.m. Marla Harms Judge will feature her book, Mrs. Lincoln's Birthday Surprise.
Additionally, on Saturday, the Eastern National Bookstore will provide cake to commemorate Lincoln's birthday.
