Thompson Announces Appointment of Ryan Brown to the United States Air Force Academy
WASHINGTON D.C. - U.S. Representative Glenn "GT" Thompson (PA-15) today announced that Mr. Ryan Brown of Port Matilda has accepted a fully-qualified appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colo.
Brown is a senior at State College Area High School. He is the son of Paul and Kirstin Brown and has a brother, David Brown. He is the grandson of Jill Brown of Phoenixville, Pa., and Dave Koller of Duncansville, Pa.
"Ryan is an active member of State High and the greater Center Region, making him a well-rounded student and leader," Rep. Thompson said. "I believe Ryan will excel during his time at the academy, and I thank him for his commitment to service."
Brown is Vice President of the State College Area High School Student Council and a four-year track and field varsity athlete. Brown is an Eagle Scout and has been Den Chief for eight years, with stints in various leadership positions.
