LaHood Congratulates James Shadid as New President of Bradley University

Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Darin LaHood (IL-16) issued the following statement congratulating James Shadid as the 13th President of Bradley University.

"Bradley University is a pillar in our community and has educated our students for over 100 years," said Rep. LaHood. "I want to congratulate Judge Shadid on being appointed the new President of Bradley University. Having served as Chief Judge for the U.S. District Court of Central Illinois, his dedication and commitment to the greater Peoria area will continue in this new role. The Peoria community has been fortunate to benefit from his leadership and integrity, and I am confident that under his guidance, Bradley will continue to build on its generational legacy as a premier academic institution."

Background:

James Shadid was named Bradley University's 13th President on March 14, 2025, and previously served as a United States District Judge. President Shadid graduated from Bradley University in 1979.
