The Young Family Athletic Center (YFAC) will celebrate the completion of its new outdoor expansion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, March 25, at 5:30 PM. The community is invited to attend and enjoy a full day of free activities and special promotions.
The outdoor expansion adds several new amenities designed to increase programming opportunities and provide additional recreational space for residents of all ages. Improvements include:
To mark the occasion, YFAC will offer free admission to the facility for the entire day on March 25.
In addition, guests who register in person on March 25 for the upcoming Summer Outdoor Adult Volleyball League will receive a 10% discount (available that day only).
Student-athletes from the University of Oklahoma are expected to attend the event, providing an exciting opportunity for community members to celebrate alongside local collegiate talent.
Attendees can also enjoy pickleball open play, free pickleball lessons and free giveaways.
YFAC is a state-of-the-art, 122,000-square-foot facility situated on a 12-acre site on the north side of Norman. It was officially opened to the public in 2024. The facility features premier basketball and volleyball courts, aquatics, sports medicine services, youth sports programming, sports camps and leagues, and a retail store.
The YFAC furthers the citizen-initiated Norman Forward mission to fund and create quality of life projects for the community. Norman residents overwhelmingly supported Norman Forward, passing the initiative with 72 percent approval on October 13, 2015.
