ADVISORY - PITTSBURGH - Governor Shapiro and PA Health Secretary Dr. Bogen to Highlight First-Ever Funding for Neurodegenerative Disease Research in 2025-26 Budget

Governor Josh Shapiro and PA Department of Health Secretary Dr. Debra Bogen will join researchers, higher education leaders, and elected officials at the University of Pittsburgh to highlight a first-ever $5 million investment for institutions to conduct research on neurodegenerative diseases in the 2025-26 budget.

The 2025-26 budget builds on the progress made by the Commonwealth's first Alzheimer's Disease Division established last year at the Department of Aging and continues to fund groundbreaking research on diseases like Alzheimer's, ALS, and Parkinson's in some of the nation's top research institutions - right here in Pennsylvania.
