Overnight Closures of Caldecott Tunnel State Route 24 (SR-24) Bores #1, #2, and #4

Monday, April 27, 2026, through Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM, Nightly

Alameda and Contra Costa Counties - Caltrans is slated to close Bores 1, 2 and 4 of the Caldecott Tunnel on eastbound State Route 24 (SR-24) overnight in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. These closures will take place Monday, April 27, 2026, through Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 10:00 PM to 4:30 AM the next morning. These closures are needed for cable relocation, tunnel washing and routine maintenance. Only one bore will be closed at a time; all other tunnel bores in both directions will remain open to traffic. Please note that this schedule is dependent on weather conditions and may be subject to change.
