Under Boise State University Policy 6030, a university contract can only be executed by an authorized official with delegated signature authority from the Chief Financial and Officer. Additionally, most contracts/agreements require review by the Office of General Council prior to signing. The signature authority matrix is provided on the Office of General Counsel website and is delegated by title. University employees who do not possess explicit, written signing authority are strictly prohibited from signing contracts or otherwise legally binding the university. Executing an agreement without properly delegated authority may render the contract void, subject the signer to personal liability and lead to disciplinary action. All designated signers and contract delegates are required to adhere to this policy and complete signature authority training upon appointment, and every three years thereafter. All contract signers and their administrators must attend one of the following required trainings.
