Macon-Bibb's Office of Communications has been named a finalist for Team of the Year in Ragan & PR Daily's annual Zenith Awards after a review by a panel of 13 senior communicators, representing organizations across nonprofit, technology, hospitality, retail and consumer goods.

"We've had the great fortune and honor to help tell amazing stories of our government and community, and it's great to have that work noticed by national communication leaders from multiple industries," says Chief Communications Officer Chris Floore. "This team lives the stories they tell, and that knowledge, connection, and authenticity shines through in all they do.

"In just its second year, the Zenith Awards have already become one of our most competitive programs. The quality of work this year raised the bar in nearly every category," said Brendan Gannon, Director of Awards Marketing at Ragan. "These finalists don't just represent great work - they represent leadership at a moment when our industry needs it most."

"People deserve to hear from their government, and this team takes our story directly to them. And they're able to do this despite the ever-increasing amount of available information online," says Mayor Lester Miller. "Their strategic thinking…their creativity…and their love of our community is essential to all that we do."

The four-person team - Chief Communications Officer Chris Floore, Communications Manager Edna Adams, Multimedia Manager Olivia Walter, and Digital Content Specialist Emily Wilson - is responsible for all communications efforts, including strategic communications, crisis and severe weather communications, event planning, videography, online and social media content, photography, e-newsletters, media relations, executive communications, live broadcasting, and more.

About the Zenith Awards

Communicators are operating at a defining moment. Trust can evaporate overnight, artificial intelligence is rewriting the profession in real time and the pressure on leaders to communicate with clarity and courage has never been higher.

Ragan created the Zenith Awards to celebrate the people, teams and organizations rising to that challenge, and today the organization is announcing the finalists for its second annual class. This year's field reflects the full range of that work: bold AI-driven campaigns, crisis response under real pressure, employee cultures that hold organizations together and storytelling that shapes how the world sees a brand.

Finalists span more than 40 categories, plus top individual and team honors including Communications Professional of the Year, Marketing Professional of the Year, Team of the Year, Rising Stars and Agencies of the Year, with Campaign of the Year, the program's highest distinction, revealed live on stage.

About the Office of Communications

The Office of Communications works to find the best ways to let people know what the government and its partners are doing to improve the community through strategic communications, media relations, video & photography services, graphic design, a weekly e-newsletter, event planning, message development, social media, online content, crisis communications, and more.

This is one of nearly 60 individual, team, and project recognitions earned by the Office of Communications, and the third time this year the team has been named a finalist for top team in the country.

Awards have been given by the City-County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA), National Association of County Information Officers (NACIO), National Association of Government Communicators (NAGC), PR Daily, PRNews, PRSA Georgia, SeeClickFix, the Georgia chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America, and Engaging Local Government Leaders.
