On December 12, 2025 the National Coordinator for Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Vladislav Tatarinovich, met with representatives of UN agencies in the Republic of Belarus at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus under the auspices of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Igor Sekreta.
The participants discussed a plan of joint actions to achieve the SDGs in Belarus for 2026, including a meeting of the Council for Sustainable Development on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl accident and a meeting of national coordinators for achieving the SDGs of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member countries.
The heads of UN agencies in Belarus highly appreciated the functioning of the national mechanism for the implementation of the SDGs in Belarus, thanks to which the country has been occupying high positions in the global sustainable development ranking for several years in a row. In this context, the meeting confirmed the effectiveness of the implementation of the international technical assistance project "Support for the efforts of the Republic of Belarus in the nationalization and localization of the SDGs" and expressed interest in its continuation until 2030.
