As part of the international Baroque music festival held in the Jesuit missions of Bolivia, on 14 April 2026 the Embassy of Italy in La Paz hosted the Italian musical group "Lux Terrae Baroque Ensemble", which performed the concert "Il Canto del Violino" at the Church of the Exaltación, located in the square in front of the Italian Residence.
The musicians, from Vercelli, performed violin and organ works by 17th-century composers (including Biagio Marini, Arcangelo Corelli, Giovan Battista Fontana and Marco Uccellini), highlighting the importance of the Italian musical tradition within the Baroque repertoire.
The concert offered the audience a musical journey focused on the technique of diminution and the stile passeggiato, which represent the earliest form of violin composition from the late 16th to the early 17th century.
