Technology entrepreneur and influential economist Dr. Pippa Malmgren will deliver the keynote address during the Center Stage Luncheon at the 2026 GPA Midstream Convention.
"Malmgren is a financial authority and acclaimed trend spotter," said GPA Midstream President and CEO Sarah Miller. "She's advised world leaders, and is one of the few people who correctly predicted the 2007-08 real estate bubble, Brexit, and Donald Trump's victory in 2016. If you want to understand what's coming and how it could impact the midstream industry and your company, plan to attend the Center Stage Luncheon at this year's GPA Midstream Convention."
Malmgren served President George W. Bush in the White House as Special Assistant for Economic Policy and on the National Economic Council. She's a former member of the president's Working Group on Financial Markets and The President's Working Group on Corporate Governance, and she was responsible for assessing terrorism risks to the economy after the 9/11 attacks.
She has authored or co-authored five books on leadership and the economy, including The Infinite Leader, which won the International Press Award for Best Book on Leadership in 2021, and The Leadership Lab, which was named Business Book of the Year and Best Book on Leadership in 2019, and received the International Press Award in 2020.
Malmgren, who co-founded the investment firm Principalis Asset Management in 2009, earned her Ph.D. from the London School of Economics and was the school's commencement speaker in 2013 and 2016. She is credited with coining the term "shrinkflation."
She hosts the Pippa Podcast and writes on Substack where she shares her thinking on how to prepare for tomorrow's economy today. Her specialty is identifying signals of what's coming to help her audience anticipate inflation, geopolitics, and innovations.
