Riparian Preserve Trail Closures Begin June 9 for Maintenance

Gilbert, Ariz - Several dirt trails at the Riparian Preserve will be temporarily closed for maintenance from Monday, June 9, through Friday, June 13, 2025.

During this time, crews will be grading the dirt trails to smooth out high and low spots. This work will involve the use of heavy equipment and tractors, and intermittent trail closures will be necessary for the safety of all park users.

Trail work will begin on the morning of June 9, and crews will progress through the preserve one area at a time, starting in Area 1 and continuing through Area 6. While a trail segment is under construction, it will be fully closed to the public. The rest of the park will remain open.

What to Expect:

  • Unscheduled, temporary closures of dirt trail segments between June 9-13
  • Sign boards with closure information will be posted throughout the park in advance
  • Detour maps and signage will be available at key points during construction
  • Park visitors are encouraged to plan ahead and follow posted detour signs while trail improvements are underway.
