Governor Polis Highlights More Housing Now in Longmont and Celebrates Colorado Agriculture at the Weld County Fair

NORTHERN COLORADO - Today, Governor Polis was in Northern Colorado and met with volunteers working to build homes at Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley, highlighting Colorado's commitment to building more housing Coloradans can afford. While in Northern Colorado, he also attended the Weld County Fair.

"Today I met with and thanked volunteers with Habitat for Humanity who are putting in the hard work to build homes Coloradans can afford in Longmont. Habitat for Humanity shows what's possible when neighbors show up to strengthen our communities by giving more Coloradans a safe place to call home. This is exactly the kind of hands-on work that's helping us build more housing now that Coloradans can afford," said Governor Polis.

Located in Longmont, Habitat for Humanity of the St. Vrain Valley was established in 1988. St. Vrain Habitat partners with qualifying low-income families to help them achieve the dream of homeownership. Serving the communities of the St. Vrain Valley School District and the Estes Valley, St. Vrain Habitat builds and preserves homes in Longmont, Dacono and Estes Park. These homes are a community effort with volunteers, partners and local businesses working together to contribute labor and materials to keep costs low.

While in Northern Colorado, Governor Polis also visited the Weld County Fair and met with Coloradans and local vendors, celebrating the state's strong agricultural roots. He was joined by local leaders.

"I had a great time at the Weld County Fair. From checking out the fierce competition at the poultry showing to conversations with local vendors, this fair showcased Colorado agriculture at its best. It was great to meet with the State FFA president and the youth who are leaders of the next generation of Colorado's agriculture community," said Governor Polis.
