EU funding for MIFTAH despite its dissemination of antisemitic allegations and its denial of the atrocities of 7 October 2023

According to the EU Financial Transparency System, the Palestinian Initiative for the Promotion of Global Dialogue and Democracy (MIFTAH) is a partner of a EUR 3.5 million EU-funded project entitled 'Recentering the Civic Internet through Partner Engagement (ReCIPE)'. Moreover, according to the International Aid Transparency Initiative, MIFTAH has received EUR 755 000 from the Commission (via War Child Holland) for the project for the period 2021-2025.

Since the Hamas-orchestrated massacre of 7 October 2023, MIFTAH has disseminated multiple false and inflammatory allegations against Israel. MIFTAH has also denied and relativised the systematic sexual violence committed by Hamas during the attacks of 7 October 2023.

Given the Commission's stated commitments to neutrality and integrity and to fighting antisemitism and disinformation:

• 1.Is the Commission aware of these statements and publications by MIFTAH and its leadership?
• 2.Does the Commission consider MIFTAH's activities and public communications to be compatible with the principles and contractual obligations attached to EU funding?
• 3.Will the Commission review or suspend its current and planned financial support to MIFTAH in light of this?
