Sri Lanka Navy Ship (SLNS) Sagara and Nandimitra set sail on 11 Feb 26 from the Port of Colombo to Visakhapatnam, India to join the multilateral naval exercise MILAN and International Fleet Review (IFR), hosted by the Indian Navy. The 13th edition of the exercise will be conducted from 17 to 25 Feb 26 at Visakhapatnam and in the waters of the Bay of Bengal.

Guided by the theme "United through Oceans" for IFR and "Camaraderie, Cooperation, Collaboration" for MILAN, this edition will feature professional exchanges, operational drills, and cultural celebrations, along with maritime assets of regional and extra-regional partners.

Before the departure, the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Fleet, Commodore Danesh Pathberiya conveyed best wishes to Captain Nilanga Dharmarathna and Captain Lohitha De Silva Commanding Officers of SLNS Sagara and Nandimitra leaving for MILAN - 26.

Taking part in this nature of naval exercises would open new avenues to the Sri Lanka Navy to build inter-operability with regional partners, exchange best practices and procedures in maritime operations and identify new challenges in maritime domain.
