Reminder: CAUSE-represented staff are still eligible for tuition waivers

August 10, 2026

Reminder: As UA continues the collective bargaining process with CAUSE, employees represented by CAUSE are eligible for tuition waiver benefits.

Why it matters: With bargaining underway, inaccurate claims about tuition waivers have circulated. Below are the details and the facts you should know.

The facts:

  • Tuition waivers for eligible employees, spouses, and dependents as provided in existing University Regulations are unchanged. All regular, benefits-eligible employees are able to use this benefit.
  • These benefits will stay in effect, as provided in the Regulations, for the duration of negotiations.
  • Any future change in eligibility for CAUSE-represented employees would result from the collective bargaining process and be reflected in a new, ratified CBA. Without a contract, nothing can change unilaterally.
